Along with welcoming your baby into your home, you welcome untold amounts of baby paraphernalia, and even after all the tiny clothes you can't bear to part with for sentimental reasons, there is just so much stuff. And they grow out of it all so quickly. So. Quickly.
You become a person who hears someone amongst their friends and family is pregnant and immediately start wondering if they need this, that or the other that you happen to be looking for a new home for!!
But there are many excellent ways you can both, clear your house and help your local community whether you're looking to sell or donate your items.
Local Facebook Groups- there are so many local charities that operate through Facebook groups. They help everyone from people struggling to afford baby basics with the cost of living to refugees and those fleeing domestic violence. For the most part they fulfil requests with preloved, donated items.
Neighbourhood groups/apps- similar to facebook marketplace but within the local area. So many good deals to be found here!
Little Village is a London based charity that has 5 hubs across London, BUT you can also find a baby charity local to you via their website to donate your preloved baby items and support your local community. Obviously there are loads of charities you can donate to, all have their own rules about what can be donated- some won't accept anything that requires batteries.
There are also fantastic options for having your favourite baby clothes made into lasting memories; blankets, bears, cushions, decorative letters...
Remade x Junior & Bear, obviously I couldn't leave without mentioning Remade! Although not necessarily a way to declutter, the concept is very much in keeping with the theme of this post. Turning your most loved clothing into something for your babies, head over to our website to read more.
